Between August and November, construction on the east and westbound lanes of Highway 401 may impact travel for Conestoga students and employees at the Doon and Cambridge campuses. The project includes repaving and upgrades that will stretch one kilometre both east and west of the Homer Watson Boulevard interchange. Paving operations are expected to take place overnight and will result in closures and lane restrictions that will start between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily. Overnight work should be completed by 6:30 a.m. Ramp closures may also occur throughout the day.
Beginning September 1, Grand River Transit will operate a temporary bus terminal in a section of Lot 10 at the Doon campus. All passengers will board and alight from buses in that area – buses will no longer travel through the ring road around Doon’s main building. Buses will depart from Lot 10 through Lots 9 and 8, then turn left onto Conestoga College Boulevard. Customers with mobility devices who are unable to board at the temporary station can board at an accessible stop at the entrance to parking lot 8, near the Welcome Centre kiosk. The iXpress routes 201, 203 and route 76 will remain on the roadway between the front of the Rec Centre and E Wing. During this period, blue parking permits from Lot 10 are also valid in Lots 11-14.
Due to maintenance, the HVAC fan servicing the 2D level in the main building at Doon will be shut down during Student Success Week, October 21 to 26.
